CELL GROUPS AND ACTIVITIES
SAIACS aims to develop a holistic dimension to community life. To aid this, the campus is divided into six cell groups. The purpose of a Cell Group is to provide a smaller community unit to enhance opportunities for deeper relationships, effective support and a richer experience at SAIACS.
The Cell Group members not only pray for each other, but take part in various activities, both non-competitive and competitive, to help develop individuals in various facets. Each Cell Group has one or two Faculty Mentors, who help support students through prayer and being available to them outside class. Cell Group activities include organising a week of Chapel, meeting regularly for fun activities, service to the community by helping serve dinner and recycling plastic. Inter Cell Group competitions, like a Volleyball tournament and Sports Day add the to enjoyment and help towards team building. Apart from Cell Group activities, there are activities that help bring the community together on different levels. There is the Cultural Programme that encourages informative and entertaining celebrations of cultural diversity. Then there is the E-Day (Environment Day), where the students and faculty join with the service staff to help clean the camps. During Independence Day and Republic Day, there is a flag hoisting service for the entire community. SAIACS strongly believes that such activities are an important part of growing in the image of Christ. Hence, SAIACS views cell group as an opportunity to develop leadership skills, learn to deal with inter-personal relationships, as well as nurture group accountability.
