ALUMNI IMPACT: Rev. Suri Williams (MTh 1995)

Suri Williams is the Chaplain and Academic Dean at Colombo Theological Seminary, Sri Lanka, where he lectures in Old Testament and New Testament survey and is in charge of practical areas of Preaching and Youth Ministry. Suri’s wife Shanthi, who also took SAIACS courses, is Chaplain at the Methodist College Girls’ School in Colombo.

Suri says, "My time at SAIACS gave me great refreshment after years of ministry. Pioneering work in the war zone of northern Sri Lanka made me look for answers and my study let me reflect, think freshly, and face up to issues." Suri recalls that he had felt drained when he came into SAIACS but he returned energized. He appreciates the biblical content of his course, and the fellowship and input on family at SAIACS.

"Here at CTS," he says, "we have pastors and lay people who want to work on family issues, as Bible truths must make healthy families. We believe there can be a Christian impact in the secular world from our families. If Christianity cannot hack it in the world of lies, cheating, nepotism, and profiteering, then it is not strong enough. We try to help individuals and families steer a straight line."
