M.A.(TS) (ADVANCED) AND PRE-M.TH.

M.A.(TS) (ADVANCED)

SAIACS students who have finished M.A.(TS) can opt for a third year and finish with a M.A. in Theological Studies (Advanced) completing the ATA requirement to qualify for M.Th. During this third year, a student takes six /seven modules including Biblical languages and a three month project. M.A. students desiring to major in Pastoral Theology and Counselling will be required to take an addition five courses in areas such as Child Theology & Development, Youth Ministries, the Christian Family, Gender Studies and one module as a project. Other students who wish to qualify for a particular discipline in M.Th. can do so by fulfilling the departmental requirement while they do six/seven required modules. M.A.(TS) (Advanced) students have to earn 30 credits over the year.

A minimum average of 50.01% (B grade average) for the two-year M.A.(TS) is required for admission into M.A.(TS)-Advanced

PRE-M.TH.

The Pre-M.Th. programme, qualifying students for the SAIACS M.Th. programme, upskills prospective students from ATA or other recognised colleges seeking admission into Old Testament or New Testament departments or others. This programme runs alongside the M.A.(TS) (Advanced). Pre-M.Th. does not lead to a degree nor can credits be forwarded to the M.Th. To continue M.Th., Pre-M.Th. students need a minimum average of 50.01%.
Applicants must hold a B.D. or M.Div. degree with at least a second class with 50.01% (B grade) average from a theological college or seminary, which is accredited by the Asia Theological Association or is affiliated to the Senate of Serampore. Admission remains subject to the discretion of the Faculty Council.
Applicants whose B.D. or M.Div. is not from one of these institutions can appear for the Qualifying examinations conducted by SAIACS. Contact the Registrar for details.
